About the role of the author (extended)

About the role of the author

I am the author and initiator of the nera Web3 Digital Country Concept — an open-source Web3 experiment exploring self-governed digital jurisdictions.

I do not operate, administer, or control the protocol and have no special rights or authority within it. I do not manage funds, do not make decisions on behalf of nera, and do not represent the system as an operator.

All governance and decisions are intended to be performed by citizens through protocol-defined consensus mechanisms.

I am the author of the idea and one of the participants. My role is recognition, not authority.

Two registers

In substantive communication, nera describes itself as a digital country — that is what citizens are building. In legal and regulatory contexts, nera is an open-source experiment in creating a new digital decentralized country. Both registers are true at the same time: "experiment" is honest, because the operational success of any new country is not guaranteed in advance.

Licenses

Code in the nera repositories is licensed under GPL-3.0. Content and documentation are licensed under CC-BY-SA-4.0. Copyright 2026 nera community (citizens of nera, collectively).
